We perform these tests on each unit before it is shipped.
(HDD means Hard Disk Drive. Optical is a DVD optical disc, +RW, +R, -R as specified in each test.  USB is a USB memory stick).

Record & Play

Autodetect video format: HDMI, Composite, Component - Verify after power-up

HDD: record/play from all inputs

Composite: Record & Play
Component: Record & Play
HDMI: Record & Play

Optical +RW: record/play. (Direct Recording & Playback)

USB: record/play (Direct Recording & Playback)

HDD:
copy files to USB
copy files to Optical +RW, +R, -R

HDD & USB:
make DVD-Video with no menu,
make DVD-Video with text menu,
make DVD-Video with motion Icon menu (+R, -R, +RW)

Remote Control

Connect to network, TCP/IP

Control via Telnet: Record/play, delet files, make DVD, eject.

Connect & Control via RS-232 Serial:
Record/play, delete files make DVD, eject.
(Commands for Serial and TCP/IP are the same 4-character commands.)

System Settings

Set Timezone

Set Time

Make Reinstall/Backup Disc

Reinstall operating system from disc. (Only some units)
