Compact Disc Interactive (CD-i) never made it as a consumer format as Philips had hoped.
It has excelled, however, as an excellent delivery medium for both training and point-of-
information touch-screen kiosks.
For the lobby of the new Bruce Gray Center, Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech selected BCD Associates to provide the touch screen to provide easy access to video clip interviews with the school’s innovative director.
The system features a full-motion video attract screen that switches to a beautiful menu when touched. In keeping with the exhibit’s theme of Milestones, each menu item is depicted as a river-worn rock.
The video, including animated attract section, was created by the Francis Tuttle video department, and the menu was created by Thinking Cap, Inc. BCD put it all together on CD-i and provided the touch screen and CD-i player.
