The DVD-C7 Player and DMR-E30-C7 Recorder use the BCD "C7" DVD Controller, built-in. The C7 provides RS-232 serial control and 7 closed-contact "Button" inputs for wired remote operation. Generally, all commands available on the factory IR remote are available as RS-232 serial commands. One or more RS-232 serial commands may be easily assigned to any "Button". Button assignemnts may then be saved in Non-Volatile Flash-ROM.		External DVD controllers with wired remote button control or RS-232 serial computer control. The VC-16a has 16 Button Inputs and 8 TTL pull-down outputs, 1 RS-232 serial connection for computer setup/operation, 1 RS-232 serial connection for RS-232 serial Industrial Machines, and 1 IR output for consumer machine control. The VC-16b has 16 Button Inputs, 8 of which may be reassigned as TTL outputs. It has 1 RS-232 serial connection for computer setup/operation, and 1 IR output for consumer machine control.
Operation and programming of all these devices is virtually identical to the VC-16a.
