The Stafford Air and Space Museum transformed 4 passive looping DVD exhibits into pushbutton interactive displays with solid state media players from BCD. Previously, they had to replace the DVD players every 12 - 18 months. Pushbutton response is fast and there is no maintenance on the digital video exhibits.

These aviation exhibits about Lindbergh, World War I, Airship, and rocket pioneer Robert Goddard have from 4 to 8 buttons/videos each.

VC-16b IR DVD Control for Museums & Exhibits

DVD Control with BCD VC-16b. Pushbutton IR DVD is a wired remote dvd controller for interactive video museum exhibits, and displays. Easy user DVD control and other devices.

Control DVD and other IR devices with pushbuttons or RS-232. The VC-16b Pushbutton DVD controller series was originally created as a Wired Remote for interactive DVD exhibits and displays because there was no easy way to make DVD players interactive for the public. (Giving a hand-held remote to each visitor would be a bad idea!)

The VC-16a DVD Controller provides an easy Wired Remote connection to may DVD video players using either RS-232 (Pioneer DVD-V7400, DVD-V5000) rs232 or Infrared dvd control

Control RS-232 (Pioneer DVD-V7400, DVD-V5000) and IR devices with pushbuttons or RS-232. The VC-16a accepts Closed-Contact Pushbuttons (and RS-232 commands), and controls DVD players and other devices via RS-232 and/or Infrared.

Introduction If you plan your exhibit with a DVD that uses standard user navigaton (Up, Down, Left, Right, Enter/Go/OK), then you don't need this section. Just attach 5 buttons to the appropriate connections and you're underway. If, however, you want a specific button to play a particular scene/segment then there are some considerations.
